Innovations in surgical protocols for breast cancer

Judy C. Boughey, M.D., a surgical oncologist at Mayo Clinic's campus in Rochester, Minnesota, discusses innovations in surgical protocols for breast cancer. From the surgical standpoint there have been many changes to breast cancer treatment including in the neoadjuvant setting. Triple-negative breast cancer is one such diagnosis that can benefit from neoadjuvant therapy. Sameer R. Keole, M.D., a radiation oncologist at Mayo Clinic's campus in Arizona, also offers commentary on the latest radiotherapies used in conjunction with surgery or as stand-alone treatments.
