Cancer caregiver quality of life and burnout

Maria I. Lapid, M.D., a geriatric psychiatrist at Mayo Clinic's campus in Rochester, Minnesota, discusses a study developed to improve the quality of life and prevent burnout of cancer caregivers.

After conducting two randomized control trials of psychosocial intervention to improve the quality of life of people with advanced cancer undergoing treatment, the Mayo Clinic Psycho-Oncology Research Group designed a study to address the significant burden of cancer caregivers. Study results were published in Psycho-Oncology.
